About Me:
I’m the founder and editor of a green lifestyle blog called Eco Chick, (check out www.eco-chick.com) which includes posts from a group of young, talented women bloggers. I am also a freelance writer focussing on science, the environment, health and food.
Having held several jobs in various media, (non-profit, TV movies, and magazines) I have decided to return to school in order to explore my artistic side more fully. I will be pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in nonfiction writing at Columbia University starting Fall, 2006.
I am a spiritual person, but I do not adhere to any particular religion, or mode of spirituality. I have developed my own path which is based on a variety of world religions, my own moral findings, and a good dose of fun. The basic tenets of my path are enjoying the gorgeous Earth I am a part of (that includes swimming, hiking, cloud-watching, rain-walking, and bare feet in the snow or mud– basically anything that brings my closer to the Earth). It also includes caring for animals and plants the best that I am able, being vegetarian, living a low-impact life, loving honestly, being a good friend, and denouncing fear in all its various forms, anger and sadness being the predominant manifestations for me.
I was born in Australia and have spent a lot of time there; it is my second home. My first home is the Hudson Valley of New York and the surrounding areas. I love New York City and New England and think that it would be difficult to live away from the greatest city on Earth. I have also lived in Madrid, Spain, Berkeley, California, and Western Massachusetts.
Travelling, reading and writing are primary to me and my happiness; movement soothes me, though I find home to be supremely important as well.
